The Plains Art Museum collects and displays art works from around the region and country, ranging from traditional Native American pieces to works by Andy Warhol and Salvador Dali. Its permanent collection includes the shimmering pencil drawings of Frank Big Bear, Jr., the political pop art of David P. Bradley, and the Japanese-influenced prints of Mary Cassatt. It also presents regularly changing temporary exhibits, such as "Making a Living: Regional Artists and the Marketplace" and "Spirit of Place: The Art of Kathryn Lipke Vigesaa." It lies in downtown Fargo, just a few blocks west of Viking Ship Park.
Open Tue. - Sat., 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; Thurs. until 7:00 p.m.; Sun., 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Adults $5; Seniors $4; Students and Children are free.
